Commander of National Strategic Command Pakistan Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza on Saturday warned that any miscalculation in the region would be met with a response beyond an adversary’s imagination, stressing that there is no space for conflict in a nuclearised environment.

Speaking at the passing-out parade of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, he said Pakistan would not accept cross-border aggression or any breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The armed forces, he added, stand ready to defend every inch of the country.

Warning on peace, restraint and resolve

Lt Gen Aamer framed Pakistan as a peace-seeking state that favours restraint, dialogue and regional stability, while insisting that aggression would bring a firm reply. “Let no adversary mistake our commitment to peace as weakness nor misinterpret our restraint as a lack of resolve,” he said.

In language echoed in other accounts of the same address, he told those with hostile designs across the borders that Pakistan’s stance remains clear: any miscalculation would draw a response far beyond the initiator’s imagination or calculation.

Diplomatic backdrop with India

The speech followed, by a day, Pakistan’s rejection of remarks by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan, at the weekly briefing, dismissed what he called anti-Pakistan statements and said Islamabad would respond fully to any aggression and remain ready to meet threats to its security.

Singh had said that any future terrorist act originating from Pakistan would draw a stronger response. The Foreign Office urged India to learn from last year’s events and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Region, Kashmir and modern warfare

Referring to shifting geopolitics and conflict in the Middle East, the National Strategic Command Pakistan chief said the country’s strategic weight had grown. He pointed to Pakistan’s role in regional stability through the Islamabad Accord and said the Makkah Accord reflected a similar vision of lasting peace.

He condemned violence against civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Palestine and said Pakistan’s people and government would keep offering diplomatic, moral and political support. On Kashmir, he called it an unfinished agenda of partition and said Pakistan would continue to back the Kashmiri people’s struggle in line with their aspirations and relevant United Nations resolutions.

He argued that disruptive technologies are changing warfare so quickly that older operational doctrines are no longer enough, and that the Pakistan Armed Forces have begun a multi-domain transformation. He also warned that adversaries seek to weaken national cohesion through disinformation, narrative warfare, proxy terrorism and other sub-conventional methods, and urged cadets to resist propaganda while mastering new tools of defence.
