Peshawar-based technologist Abdullah Rashid is leveraging artificial intelligence to help international organisations process complex corporate disclosures, demonstrating the growing international footprint of Pakistani software engineers. Serving as co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of ClearTraced, an AI data enterprise based in Sweden, the AI expert in Peshawar builds automated frameworks that extract figures from sprawling corporate filings and trace them back to their origins.
Speaking to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Rashid explained that artificial intelligence has become pivotal in managing high-volume records. However, he noted that utility depends on data reliability and provenance. For analysts, banks, and researchers combing through thousands of pages of annual publications, his platform identifies critical data points while maintaining clear references to original source text.
Verifiable data and human oversight
Rashid stressed that simple keyword or number extraction is insufficient without context. An isolated figure can be misleading without its reporting year, measurement unit, or methodological footnotes. To prevent errors, ClearTraced incorporates automated cross-checks alongside human verification protocols so domain experts can audit findings before deploying them.
This methodology has drawn adoption from research groups such as the Global Child Forum. The organisation relies on ClearTraced’s parsing tools to analyze public disclosures from major corporations, evaluating their impact on children’s rights. By automating repetitive document reviews, the AI workflow supports researchers without sidelining professional human judgment.
Expanding entrepreneurial footprint
Prior to his work with ClearTraced, Rashid established Metasense, a software development enterprise that expanded to more than 30 staff members and served over 100 global commercial clients and startups. He also developed Look Atlas, an automated photography system designed to help e-commerce merchants generate accurate product and model imagery from base photographs without misrepresenting physical goods.
Reflecting on the role of machine learning, the AI expert in Peshawar observed that the technology should not be measured purely by automation speed, but by accuracy and transparency. Rashid, who is a member of the Forbes Technology Council, reiterated that dependable artificial intelligence requires steady human oversight to deliver practical, trustworthy results.
