Traders in Hyderabad have greeted a new set of office-bearers at the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry. According to a report in The Nation, the Hyderabad City Business Forum sent a delegation to the chamber secretariat to congratulate president Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui and his colleagues. A second delegation, from the Hyderabad Plastic Union, then called on the same office and asked the chamber to help with problems in the plastics trade.
Business forum greets the new office-bearers
Syed Tahir Ali Shah, central president of the Hyderabad City Business Forum, led the first delegation. The Nation said the visitors congratulated senior vice president Muhammad Fahad Mian and vice president Irfan Arbiani, along with the new president and other office-bearers.
The forum group also included central senior vice president Rashid Sheikh, vice president Nasir Rajput, general secretary Jameel Ahsan and vice chairman Shahid Rajput. Arif Khatri was present, as was Abdul Rahim Iqbal Vohra of Shahi Bazaar, known as Bholo Bhai.
Markets that joined the call
Representatives of other trade unions and city markets were also part of the delegation, The Nation reported. The list covered the Footwear Union, Qaidabad Bazaar, Miani Road, Mobile Market, Qila Bazaar, Cloth Market, Timber Market and Pathan Colony. In that list, only the Footwear Union is named as a union; the other entries are markets and areas of the city.
The report does not quote the visitors or the new office-bearers. It also does not say when the chamber election was held, or how many votes any candidate received.
Plastics traders ask for cooperation
The Hyderabad Plastic Union made its own visit to the secretariat and offered its congratulations. The Nation named president Nadeem Ahmed Nizami, patron Yusuf Dada, vice president Saeed Ahmed Rajput and general secretary Nauman. Managing committee member Waqas Ahmed Qureshi attended with Imran Memon, Muzammil Hussain, Faisal Khan, Shakeel Ahmed Mughal and others.
The two delegations belong to different bodies. Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui is the newly elected chamber president. Nadeem Ahmed Nizami is president of the Hyderabad Plastic Union.
Plastics traders used their visit to place sector problems before the new team and to ask the chamber for help. The published account does not list those problems, and it does not record any promise, meeting date or decision.
The Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry is a local association for small traders and small industry in the city. The Nation’s account is limited to two congratulatory visits and one request for help. It does not announce a decision on the plastics complaints, or any change that shoppers or shopkeepers would see in prices, bills or market rules.
