Karachi’s Counter-Terrorism Department said on Sunday that it had arrested a suspected member of the Baloch Republican Guards and recovered a grenade, Dawn reported.
A CTD spokesperson said the department was tipped off about a “trained terrorist of Fitna al-Hindustan” in the city. CTD personnel and an intelligence agency raided and arrested Fazal Haq, he said.
The spokesperson claimed the suspect “was planning to target sensitive installations and law enforcers on the orders of his foreign handlers,” and that he “had got training from a neighbouring country.” He said efforts were under way to arrest accomplices, facilitators and financers.
Dawn attributed those details to the CTD. The report does not quote Fazal Haq or a court.
