The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has launched an inquiry into the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), ordering the provincial recruitment body to submit all records related to the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2023 by October 20.

The anti-corruption watchdog initiated the formal proceedings following complaints regarding alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. The bureau has directed the commission to ensure that the designated custodian of the records appears before investigators to assist in the verification.

Call-up notice issued under accountability law

NAB served the directive through a call-up notice sent directly to the secretary of the SPSC in Hyderabad. The communication was issued under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999, a legal provision that empowers the bureau to summon individuals and requisition official documentation during an active inquiry.

The notice specifies that an inquiry is underway against officers and officials of the commission as well as other individuals in connection with the CCE 2023. The bureau stated that the relevant custodian must present the original examination files to establish the facts of the case.

Allegations of corrupt practices

According to the bureau, the NAB chairman received credible information stemming from a complaint that alleged corruption and corrupt practices in the administration of the competitive exam. Investigators noted that the commission maintains primary custody of key materials that are essential for determining the merits of the allegations.

The notice observed that the office of the SPSC secretary holds important data that can help ensure a just decision in the inquiry. SPSC leadership has therefore been directed to instruct the designated officer to join the formal proceedings in person on Oct 20 along with the complete documentation.

Legal scrutiny of provincial testing

The SPSC conducts the Combined Competitive Examination to recruit candidates for provincial administrative, executive, and civil posts across Sindh. Scrutiny by NAB puts the evaluation and selection procedures of the provincial body under direct legal review.

The commission's compliance on the scheduled date will determine the next steps in the inquiry. If investigators uncover substantive evidence of wrongdoing, the bureau can proceed with further legal action under its regulatory framework.

Aasan alfaaz mein

NAB Karachi ne Sindh Public Service Commission se CCE 2023 imtihan ka mukammal record 20 October tak talab kar liya hai. Yeh iqdam imtihanat mein bad-unwani aur corruption ki shikayat samnay anay ke baad uthaya gaya hai. SPSC ke mutalliqah afsar ko tamam zaroori paperwork ke sath NAB ke samnay pesh honay ka hukum diya gaya hai. Is tehqeeqat ka maqsad yeh maloom karna hai ke imtihan mein koi ghair qanooni kaam toh nahi hua.
