The national assembly speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, refused to give the floor to PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and switched off his microphone after Gohar tried to make political remarks. The sitting in Islamabad had been called as a condolence reference for late lawmaker Mahmood Bashir Virk. Sadiq said the House was there to acknowledge Virk's parliamentary service, and he would not let the occasion become a political argument.

Why the floor was refused

Gohar tried to speak on political matters while the tribute was under way. The national assembly speaker refused him the floor and then switched off the microphone. He said political matters could also be discussed the following day, so the condolence reference would remain focused on the late lawmaker.

Sadiq described Mahmood Bashir Virk as an experienced politician whose work in parliament the House was recognising. On the talks, he said openings had been put to the PTI in negotiations, and that the party still would not accept anything in return. He did not list what those offers contained.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq ne Barrister Gohar ka microphone band kar diya, kyunke woh siyasati baat karna chahte thay. Yeh session Mahmood Bashir Virk ki yaad ke liye tha, siyasat ke liye nahi. Speaker ne kaha ke siyasati baatein agle din bhi ho sakti hain, aur ke PTI ko muzakraat mein jo pesh kiya gaya tha woh lene ko tayyar nahi thi.
