ARY News reported on Monday that the prime minister has formed a 10-member committee to provide policy guidelines for governance in KP after governor’s rule.
Who ARY named
ARY names Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar. It also names Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. ARY’s sources said the committee would also include one representative each from the PPP, the BAP and the IPP.
ARY said the first meeting was held in Islamabad under Dar, and that it reviewed the steps taken in KP after governor’s rule. ARY also said this committee is separate from the 11-member advisory council already announced for Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, which includes Dr Syed Amir Abdullah, Tariq Mahmood Pasha and retired Lieutenant General Nigar Johar Khan.
Where Geo differs
Earlier on Monday Geo reported, citing sources, an 11-member monitoring committee with Dar as convener. Geo named Rana Sanaullah, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Amir Muqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, plus the PPP, BAP and IPP. Geo did not name Mohsin Naqvi. Geo’s sources said the prime minister chaired the first meeting at about 7:03pm. The two accounts disagree on the total and on who chaired the meeting.
