The e-passport fee in Pakistan depends on the booklet an applicant chooses. DGIP, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, has published eight charges covering five-year and 10-year validity, 36 and 72 pages, and normal and urgent processing. A normal five-year passport with 36 pages is listed at Rs9,000. An urgent 10-year passport with 72 pages is listed at Rs40,500.

An e-passport is a passport booklet with an electronic chip that stores the holder's identity details. Each mix of validity, pages and speed has its own price, so two people can pay different amounts under the same fee list.

Five-year booklet charges

On normal processing, a five-year passport costs Rs9,000 with 36 pages and Rs16,500 with 72 pages. The thicker booklet costs Rs7,500 more.

Urgent processing for a five-year passport is Rs15,000 for 36 pages and Rs27,000 for 72 pages. That urgent lane costs Rs6,000 more than the normal 36-page fee, and Rs10,500 more than the normal 72-page fee.

Ten-year booklet charges

On normal processing, a 10-year passport costs Rs13,500 with 36 pages and Rs24,750 with 72 pages. Urgent processing moves those 10-year charges to Rs22,500 for 36 pages and Rs40,500 for 72 pages. The urgent lane adds Rs9,000 to the normal 36-page fee and Rs15,750 to the normal 72-page fee. A five-year 72-page passport at the normal rate, Rs16,500, still costs Rs3,000 more than a 10-year 36-page passport at the normal rate.

A normal 10-year passport costs Rs4,500 more than a normal five-year passport when both have 36 pages, and Rs8,250 more when both have 72 pages. Counted per year of validity, the normal 36-page fee comes to Rs1,800 a year for five years, because Rs9,000 divided by five is Rs1,800, and Rs1,350 a year for 10 years, because Rs13,500 divided by 10 is Rs1,350. Those amounts are the passport charge alone. The list from DGIP does not include photographs or the cost of reaching an office.

Applicants comparing the e-passport fee in Pakistan have to settle years, pages and speed together. Fewer pages and normal processing keep the bill at the bottom of the list. More pages and urgent processing move it toward Rs40,500. The Pakistan passport price that matters is the single line matching the booklet they request.
