TECNO has launched the POVA Curve 2 5G in Pakistan at PKR 99,999 for the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Sales start across the country on October 15. The launch marks the return of the POVA series to Pakistan, after weeks of teasers under a “Beauty and Beast” theme. The company is building its pitch around one idea: a large battery in a phone that is still slim.
Battery, charging and design
The phone is 7.42mm thick and weighs 195g, and it carries an 8,000mAh battery. The mAh figure (milliampere-hours) measures how much charge a battery can hold, and phones with batteries this size are usually thicker and heavier. TECNO says the battery can last more than 15 days on standby and needs charging about every two days in normal use. A 45W wired charger takes the phone from empty to full in 82 minutes, and the battery is rated for 2,000 charging cycles, which the company equates to six years of use.
The design draws on interstellar spaceships, with flowing lines and a symmetrical layout. It comes in Melting Silver, Mystic Purple and Storm Titanium. The phone has an IP64 rating, which means protection against dust and water splashes, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display. TECNO says SGS-certified testing covers drops from 1.5 metres.
Performance, screen and camera
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G, a processor that handles apps, games and multitasking. TECNO says it can run Free Fire at 60 frames per second for 90 minutes, with its Ice Cooling 3.0 system managing heat. The curved 144Hz AMOLED screen refreshes more often than standard screens, which makes scrolling smoother, and it peaks at 4,500 nits of brightness for use in direct sunlight.
The rear setup pairs a 50MP main camera with a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. TECNO’s AI tools include AI Eraser 2.0, which removes unwanted people, pets and clutter, and Image-to-Live, which turns still photos into moving ones. The Ella voice assistant offers two-way call translation, which the company says now covers WhatsApp calls. The signal and Wi-Fi gains, along with the six-year lag-free claim, are TECNO’s own statements backed by TÜV certification, and independent testing is not described in the sources.
Price, offers and availability
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is priced at PKR 99,999 for the 8GB and 256GB model. Before the price was announced, reports had estimated it at between PKR 110,000 and PKR 120,000. TECNO had not confirmed those figures, and the final price falls below that range.
Buyers who purchase through PalmPay’s instalment service get PKR 5,000 off the phone. Online shoppers on Daraz can also get PKR 5,000 off with TECNO Fans discount vouchers. The phone will be available across Pakistan from October 15, and buyers can compare the battery, camera and performance claims with other phones in the same price range.
