The Kasur boy murder case moved forward when police arrested a man accused of killing an 11-year-old boy in Hussain Khanwala village, in Kasur district. The District Police Officer (DPO), who heads the district police, said the suspect confessed during questioning. Police identified him as Mubashir, a resident of the same village.
How police traced the suspect
According to the DPO, the body of the boy, Faizan, was found on 2 November, and police established that he had been killed. Police took Mubashir into custody and questioned him, and the DPO said he then admitted his role in the crime. The arrest is the main development in the Kasur boy murder case so far.
What the suspect told police
The DPO said Mubashir told investigators that he had entered the house intending to steal, and that the boy had seen him. In his written statement, he said he strangled the boy with a rope and threw the body into a field of standing crops. He also told police that he sexually assaulted the boy after the killing.
These details come from the suspect's statement as police described it, and they are presented here as the police account of events.
