US President Donald Trump has said that if American citizens grew tired of him, he could move to Israel and become its prime minister. He claimed his popularity there stands at 99 percent. The remark, made in an interview with a US television channel, came as he reflected on his party's defeat in the midterm elections.

What Trump said about Israel

Trump said he could take up the prime minister's office in Israel if Americans grew tired of him, and he presented his popularity there as 99 percent. The figure is Trump's own claim and has not been independently confirmed. Israel's prime minister is the head of government, while its president holds a largely ceremonial role. In the current reporting, the Israeli prime minister is Benjamin Netanyahu.

Midterms and the Iran war

Trump also spoke about the midterm elections held on November 3, in which his Republican Party lost ground. He admitted that the war against Iran was among the major factors that shaped the results. Midterm elections are held halfway through a US president's term to choose members of Congress, and Democrats have now taken the lead in both houses, which adds political pressure on the president.

Trump defended the war as necessary and said Iran cannot be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He said his government's position on the matter will not change.

Aid decision and reaction in Israel

Trump has also announced a halt to $4 billion in US military aid to Israel, a decision that has caused concern in Israeli political circles. Israel's opposition described the move as a major loss and called on Netanyahu to resign. Further political pressure on Trump's policies and Middle East decisions is expected after the election results.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Trump ne kaha hai ke agar American log unse tang aa gaye to woh Israel ja kar wahan ke wazir-e-azam ban sakte hain. Unhon ne Israel mein apni 99 feesad maqbooliyat ka dawa kiya hai. Unhon ne yeh bhi maana ke Iran ki jang midterm elections ke nataij par asar daalne wali badi wajohat mein shamil thi. Aam Pakistani ke liye is ka seedha asar abhi wazeh nahi hai, lekin Middle East ki policy par Trump par dabao barh sakta hai.
