SZABMU MBBS and BDS admissions are now open for the 2026-27 academic session at the private medical and dental colleges affiliated with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. Applications close on November 27. Candidates who took the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in 2024, 2025 or 2026 can apply online, subject to the prescribed admission criteria.
The university, based in Islamabad, announced the call for applications in a notice dated November 5, 2026. The programmes covered are MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). The university said it manages admission procedures and merit lists for its constituent and affiliated medical and dental institutions under the applicable regulatory framework.
Who can apply and how
Applicants must have appeared in MDCAT in one of the three years named in the notice. The university asked candidates to review the eligibility requirements and admission policy on its official portal before they submit an application. Applications are made online at , and the university advised students to apply before the deadline.
How merit is calculated
Merit is based on three results, each with a fixed weight. Matriculation, the secondary school certificate, counts for 10 per cent. FSc, the higher secondary science certificate, counts for 40 per cent, and MDCAT results count for the remaining 50 per cent. Because the entrance test carries half of the total, a strong MDCAT score has the largest effect on a candidate's position.
Colleges offering seats
For MBBS, admissions are being offered at Islamabad Medical and Dental College, Rawal Institute of Health Sciences and HBS Medical and Dental College. For BDS, candidates can apply to the Dental College of Islamabad Medical and Dental College, the Dental College of Rawal Institute of Health Sciences, HBS Dental College and Bashir College of Dentistry. The university has asked applicants to confirm the details of each institution on the admission portal.
