Wabi AI valuation has reached $1.25 billion after the company said on Thursday that it raised $55 million. The startup, which describes itself as a personal AI agent, builds mini apps people can use for day-to-day planning and organisation.
Who is behind Wabi and what it does
Wabi was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who earlier founded the AI companion startup Replika. The product first centred on letting anyone create apps through prompts. Last month the company moved toward an AI messenger role, sometimes called Wabi 2.0, in which the agent can create the interfaces users need as part of getting things done.
The company suggests those mini apps could cover meal planning, tracking local restaurants, planning date nights, fitness plans, specialised trivia games and similar tasks. In short, the pitch is less a single fixed app and more an agent that assembles small tools on demand.
How the funding round was shaped
The new capital arrives as investors pour money into AI assistants and agents. IVP led the round. Alex Lim, a general partner at IVP, said in a statement that Kuyda has a clear sense of where AI is headed and a vision for interaction that goes beyond a text box or command line, calling Wabi the expression of that vision.
Other participants included Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Forerunner, the Amazon Alexa Fund, and angel investors such as Shopify chief executive Tobi Lütke, Salesforce chief executive Marc Benioff, former Yahoo! executive Marissa Mayer, former Twitter chief executive Dick Costolo, and musician-investor Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers.
Why the agent pitch matters now
Wabi AI valuation at this level shows backers are betting that an agent which builds small apps can compete in a crowded assistant market. The wider field is active: another AI agent, Instinct, drew a $10 billion valuation in September, and companion startup Tolan recently raised $30 million. Against that backdrop, Wabi’s $55 million raise is a fresh signal that the agent-plus-mini-app idea still attracts large checks.
For readers in Pakistan who follow global tech, the story matters less as a local market move and more as a marker of how quickly personal AI products are being financed. Tools that turn chat into custom planners or trackers can eventually shape how freelancers, students and small businesses organise work—if and when such products become widely available and affordable in South Asia.
