Aisha Steel Mills Limited has named Kashif Habib as its new Aisha Steel Mills CEO, with effect from 1 November 2026. The company told the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)—the market where its shares are listed—in a disclosure dated 3 November that he replaces Dr Munir Ahmed. It asked that exchange members be notified of the change.
Leadership change at the listed mill
The appointment ends a long run for the outgoing chief. Dr Munir Ahmed joined Aisha Steel Mills Limited in October 2014 and served as CEO for more than 12 years. The firm’s notice to the PSX sets out the handover date and the identity of his successor, without detailing operational plans tied to the switch.
For shareholders and staff, the formal step is the stock-exchange filing: the board has confirmed who now holds the top executive post and from when that role began.
Who the new Aisha Steel Mills CEO is
Kashif Habib’s move sits inside the Arif Habib Group’s leadership bench. He already serves as chief executive of Power Cement and as a non-executive director of Aisha Steel. He is a chartered accountant who trained at A.F. Ferguson & Co. and has held executive roles in the group’s cement and fertilizer businesses.
That background links the steel mill’s day-to-day leadership to an executive already familiar with the company board and with other group industrial units. The company has not, in this disclosure, set out a public strategy memo beyond naming him Aisha Steel Mills CEO and stating the effective date.
Outgoing chief’s career record
Dr Munir Ahmed is a metallurgical engineer with a PhD from the University of Connecticut. Before Aisha Steel, he spent 15 years at Peoples Steel Mills, rising through senior operational posts to managing director. He also held senior research and industrial project roles at Dr A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories and received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for contributions to metallurgy.
His departure after more than a decade closes a long operational chapter at the mill. The PSX notice records the succession; it does not describe his next role.
