Hong Kong Sixes results from Mong Kok leave defending champions Pakistan out of the main trophy race but into the Plate final. The side earlier beat India by four wickets in Group C, then defeated hosts Hong Kong by six wickets in the Plate semi-final. Oman await them in that final.

Pakistan’s win over India

Before the Group C meeting, the captains again skipped the customary handshake. At Mission Road Ground, Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi won the toss and chose to bowl first; he and India captain Krunal Pandya did not shake hands. The moment echoed the Asia Cup 2025 toss in Dubai, when India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha also did not shake hands.

India made 88 for five in the allotted six overs. Shashank Singh scored 40 off 11 balls. In reply, Afridi hit five sixes in Pandya’s first over and took 31 runs from it. Pakistan reached the target in 3.5 overs. Afridi finished on 35 off eight balls; Khawaja Nafay was unbeaten on 41 off 12.

How the group shaped the main event

Hong Kong Sixes results in Group C’s last match went heavily against India. The United Arab Emirates beat India by six wickets, topped the group, and stayed unbeaten through the group stage to reach the main semi-finals.

Pakistan finished second in the group. That placing ended their defence of the main title and sent them into the Plate bracket instead of the main last-four.

Plate path and what comes next

In the Plate semi-final, Pakistan beat Hong Kong by six wickets and booked a place in the Plate final. Their opponent there is Oman.

For followers of Pakistan vs India Hong Kong Sixes contests, the group match was one-sided on the field even as the toss again carried political tension. The next fixture that matters for Pakistan is the Plate final against Oman, not another India meeting in this phase.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Pakistan ne Hong Kong Sixes mein India ko chaar wickets se hara diya. Main trophy se Pakistan bahir ho gaya, lekin Plate final tak pahunch gaya. Plate semi-final mein Hong Kong ko chhe wickets se hara kar Oman ke khilaf final mil gaya. Cricket dekhne walon ke liye ab Plate final hi asl muqabla hai.
