Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the body that notifies fuel prices, has left the petrol price unchanged and raised the diesel rate by 85 paisa a litre in a fresh notification applying for 30 October 2026.
According to the notification, petrol remains at Rs377.91 per litre. High-speed diesel now costs Rs400.67 per litre after the 85-paisa increase.
Petrol held steady, diesel nudged up
The petrol price is unchanged at the pump under this revision, so petrol cars and motorcycles face no new rise on that litre rate. Diesel users — including buses, trucks, generators and farm machinery — will pay 85 paisa more on every litre, taking the rate to Rs400.67.
Eighty-five paisa is less than one rupee. On 50 litres of diesel, that works out to an extra Rs42.50 (50 × Rs0.85). On 100 litres, the added cost is Rs85.
What Senate production figures show
Separately, a written reply in the Senate set out average daily production and sales of petrol and diesel for July to September 2026. Nationally, average daily petrol production stood at 7,035 metric tonnes while daily sales were 21,583 metric tonnes, so sales ran well ahead of domestic output.
For high-speed diesel (HSD), average daily production was 14,065 metric tonnes against daily sales of 16,866 metric tonnes. The reply said refineries make petrol and diesel from both locally produced and imported crude oil.
Province-wise picture
In Punjab, daily petrol production was recorded at 4,670 metric tonnes while sales reached 14,827 metric tonnes; HSD production stood at 7,608 metric tonnes against sales of 10,779 metric tonnes. In Sindh, daily petrol production was 1,592 metric tonnes and sales 4,567 metric tonnes, while diesel production of 4,419 metric tonnes exceeded sales of 3,662 metric tonnes.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, daily petrol sales were 2,127 metric tonnes and daily HSD sales 2,355 metric tonnes. In Balochistan, daily petrol production was 773 metric tonnes against sales of 62 metric tonnes, and diesel production 2,038 metric tonnes against sales of 70 metric tonnes.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Petrol ki qeemat is dafa nahi badli — Rs377.91 litre hi hai. Diesel 85 paisa mehnga ho kar Rs400.67 litre ho gaya hai. Buses, trucks aur generators wale thora zyada diesel kharcha karenge. Petrol users ke liye is notification mein koi naya barhao nahi.
