Students in Jhelum district who were due to sit the Computer Science paper on Tuesday, November 10 will now take it on Monday, November 30, 2026. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced the change on Saturday. The BISE Rawalpindi Computer Science paper reschedule covers both the morning and evening shifts of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Intermediate Second Annual Examination 2026, and it applies only to Jhelum district. Computer Science papers in every other district under the board's jurisdiction will be held on November 10, as originally scheduled.
What changes for Jhelum candidates
The morning group will sit its paper in the morning session and the evening group in the evening session, at the exam centres already assigned to them. In Jhelum these include Government Girls Higher Secondary School No. 1, Government Comprehensive High School and Government Higher Secondary School. Candidates in Pind Dadan Khan and Sohawa will use Government Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan High School and Government High School, respectively.
BISE spokesman Arslan Cheema said Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed issued the notification setting out the revised schedule. The board will issue updated roll number slips for convenience, but candidates may keep using their earlier slips, because both old and new slips will be accepted at the exam.
Why the paper was moved
The board's statement cited administrative reasons and said the decision followed a recommendation from the Jhelum deputy commissioner. A letter from the deputy commissioner to the BISE chairman said the district administration was making extensive administrative, security and protocol arrangements for the expected visit of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on November 10. The letter said the resulting deployment of staff and security would make it impossible to run the examination smoothly, and it asked for the papers to be rescheduled.
The accounts differ on wording. An official in the office of the Commissioner Rawalpindi described the paper as cancelled and linked the decision to the chief minister's visit, while the board's own statement used the word postponed and did not name the visit as the reason.
