Pakistan Petroleum Ltd reported Rs99 billion in profit after tax for the financial year 2026 and collections of Rs284 billion, which the company described as a record. Shareholders at its 75th annual general meeting (AGM) approved the year’s financial statements and a final cash dividend of 60 percent on ordinary shares, taking the full-year payout to 120 percent.

Production, discoveries and new acreage

The company said gas production averaged 649 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd), about 3 percent above the previous year, even though output was constrained by gas curtailment — when less gas is taken from fields than they can supply. It made 11 discoveries that added 242 billion cubic feet (BCF) to 2P reserves, the volumes considered proved and probable.

Pakistan Petroleum Ltd also drilled seven exploration wells and four development wells. After Pakistan’s 2025 offshore bidding round, it secured interests in eight offshore blocks. Management pointed to a farm-out agreement with Turkish Petroleum Overseas Company for Eastern Offshore Indus Block C, under which another firm takes a share of the work and cost, and to ongoing development at Offshore Block 5 in Abu Dhabi.

Minerals push and management’s view

Beyond oil and gas, the company said it is expanding into minerals. The BLZ project is in execution, and exploration activity has been extended in Chagai, in Balochistan. Managing Director and CEO Khalid Abdul Rehman cited energy-market volatility, declines at mature fields, security issues and circular debt — unpaid bills stuck in the energy chain — among the challenges facing the business.

The AGM’s approval of the final 60 percent dividend confirmed the annual total at 120 percent for ordinary shareholders, alongside acceptance of the FY26 accounts.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Pakistan Petroleum Ltd ne financial year 2026 mein 99 arab rupay ka munafa kamaya hai. Company ne 11 naye gas discoveries kiye aur shareholders ko saal bhar 120 percent cash dividend diya. Production thori barhi, lekin CEO ne circular debt aur security jaise masail ka zikr bhi kiya. Is se shareholders ko seedha faida milta hai; gas reserves barhne se mulk ki energy supply ke liye ummeed banti hai.
