Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday paid tribute to Pakistan’s security forces after terrorists killed in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Wadh districts, saying the officers and personnel involved had eliminated nine militants in successful operations.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, he lauded their professional capabilities and framed the results as part of the campaign against Fitna al-Hindustan — a label Pakistani officials use for certain militant networks — claiming the fighters had been operating under Indian patronage.
Operations in Kachhi and Wadh
The prime minister said the action took place in two Balochistan districts, Kachhi and Wadh. Nine terrorists were eliminated, according to his statement. He described the security forces action as commendable work by the military and law enforcement agencies aimed at ending terrorism and building lasting peace.
News of the terrorists killed in Balochistan was presented as evidence that militant networks seeking to weaken the country’s security can be confronted through coordinated field operations.
What Shehbaz Sharif said
“We will continue the fight against the menace of terrorism until it is completely eradicated from the country,” the prime minister said. He added that efforts by the security forces and law enforcement agencies to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace were praiseworthy.
Shehbaz Sharif also said militants trying to undermine Pakistan’s security and peace would not succeed, and that he and the entire nation stood with the security forces in their resolve to remove terrorism from the country.
