The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi will remain closed on Monday, November 9, 2026, to mark Allama Iqbal Day, according to an official notice shared by the mission. For Pakistanis in the UAE, the Pakistan Embassy UAE holiday means anyone needing consular services will have to plan their visits around the closure.
Why the embassy is closing
Iqbal Day marks the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national poet of Pakistan. The federal government has included November 9 in its list of public holidays for 2026, and the embassy's closure is tied to that listing. This means the allama iqbal day holiday falls on a Monday this year.
Notice to the community
The notice was shared with the Pakistani community living in the United Arab Emirates, so residents have been told about the closure ahead of the date. The Pakistan Embassy UAE holiday applies to the mission in Abu Dhabi as stated in that notice. Anyone who needs up-to-date information on other embassy services should check the mission's official channels.
