An E-11 marquee Islamabad fire that broke out late Saturday night was brought under control after an overnight emergency response by Capital Emergency Services, with cooling work still under way in the early hours of Sunday.

Firefighting units reached Sector E-11 soon after the blaze was reported and used trained crews and specialised equipment to fight the flames. According to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) — the civic body that manages much of the capital’s infrastructure — the fire was completely extinguished by around 2am. Rescue teams stayed on site to cool the structure and cut the chance of the fire starting again.

Overnight response in Sector E-11

After the E-11 marquee Islamabad fire was reported, crews inspected the affected area for leftover heat and to confirm the site was safe. Cooling operations continued into Sunday morning even once the main blaze was out, a standard step when fabric, wood or other marquee materials may still hold heat.

The Islamabad Capital Territory administration, the CDA and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) worked together during the response. CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf said all available resources were being used to protect the public and to stop any further incident.

Cause and damage still unclear

There was no immediate official word on what started the fire, how much of the marquee was damaged, or whether anyone was hurt. Until those details are confirmed by authorities, residents and visitors should treat the scene as an active emergency site and follow any local instructions.
