Subordinate courts Punjab timings have been revised with effect from Monday. Under the new schedule, both Sessions and Civil courts across Punjab will follow the same working hours for hearings.

New daily hearing hours

From Monday to Thursday, and on Saturdays, Sessions and Civil courts will hear cases from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Courts will observe a break for prayers and lunch between 1:00pm and 1:30pm. That half-hour pause sits in the middle of the main sitting day, so afternoon work resumes at 1:30pm on those days.

The change applies province-wide to subordinate courts, not to a single city or division. Anyone with a matter listed before a Sessions or Civil court in Punjab should plan around the 9:00am start and the 4:00pm close on the longer sitting days.

Friday schedule remains shorter

Fridays follow a different pattern. On that day, subordinate courts will continue to hear cases only from 9:00am to 1:00pm. There is no afternoon sitting on Fridays under the revised judicial schedule.

Litigants, lawyers and witnesses who need a Friday appearance should therefore aim for the morning window. Matters that cannot fit before 1:00pm on Friday will need another working day under the Monday-to-Thursday and Saturday timetable.

What the revised schedule covers

Officials have set the subordinate courts Punjab timings for Sessions and Civil courts together. The same clock applies to both categories: full days of 9:00am to 4:00pm with the midday break on six weekdays including Saturday, and the truncated Friday morning sitting.

Punjab court timings of this kind matter for daily court management—when files are called, when parties must reach the courtroom, and when staff day ends. The schedule does not spell out separate rules for other benches beyond the Sessions and Civil courts named in the revision.
