Unprovoked firing from Afghan border posts struck Pakistani posts at Angoor Adda in South Waziristan Lower on 1 November, the district’s deputy commissioner said. Pakistani security forces answered at once, he added, and later reported that Afghan Taliban had left several of their positions.

What the deputy commissioner said

In a statement on X, the deputy commissioner of South Waziristan Lower said firing from Afghan posts toward Pakistani checkposts in Angoor Adda continued that day. He described the shooting as unprovoked and placed the episode on the Pakistan–Afghanistan frontier in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s southern belt.

Angoor Adda sits on that frontier, where both sides maintain border posts. The official’s account is the public record available so far of how the day unfolded.

How Pakistani forces responded

According to the deputy commissioner, Pakistani security forces mounted an immediate and effective reply. He said they targeted several Afghan border posts, mortar positions and defensive posts across the line.

He further said that under that pressure, Afghan Taliban abandoned their posts and fled. The claim comes from the Pakistani district administration; no separate Afghan confirmation is included in the material used for this report.

Casualties and the border alert

The deputy commissioner said there was no report of any loss of life on the Pakistani side in the border areas. He also said Pakistani security forces stand ready to answer any form of aggression.

After the firing, the same account said Pakistani forces were remaining alert along the Angoor Adda stretch. Local residents in frontier villages often feel such alerts first through tighter checks and quieter movement near the line of control posts.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Angoor Adda ki sarhad par Afghanistan ki taraf se goli bari hui, jisay DC ne bila-asbaab bataya. Pakistani security forces ne jawab diya aur kai Afghan poston aur mortar mauqaon ko nishana banaya. DC ke mutabiq Afghan Taliban apni posten chhor kar bhaag gaye, aur Pakistani taraf koi jan-nuqsan report nahi hua. Sarhad par forces chaukas hain, is liye ilaqe ke logon ko hushiyar rehna chahiye.
