The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrests three suspects in separate cases for allegedly harassing, blackmailing and defaming women through social media, officials said. Two of the detentions took place in Lahore and one near Faisalabad, according to the agency’s Lahore Zone.
NCCIA Lahore Zone Additional Director Atif Ameer told reporters on Sunday that the men are accused of using platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok and WhatsApp to pressure women or damage their reputations. NCCIA is Pakistan’s specialised body that investigates cybercrime, including online blackmail and misuse of personal data.
Arrests in Lahore and Faisalabad
In the first Lahore case, a suspect was taken into custody from Engineering Town. Officials alleged he blackmailed a woman from Multan Cantonment after obtaining her private pictures and videos under the pretext of marriage. They said he also gained unauthorised access to her Snapchat account, demanded money, and set up a fake TikTok profile in her name to circulate her images. The man belongs to Arifwala in Pakpattan district, according to the briefing.
In a second Lahore operation, another suspect was arrested for allegedly circulating pictures and videos of a Multan-based woman through fake channels without her consent, which officials said harmed her reputation.
Separately, a suspect was arrested near Faisalabad Toll Plaza. Officials alleged he blackmailed a woman from Vehari over WhatsApp and threatened to post her private pictures on social media.
What investigators say they recovered
Across the three cases, NCCIA officers said they seized mobile phones that allegedly held the women’s private material or the accounts used in the schemes. In the Engineering Town case, they said the victim’s private data was found on the phone taken from the suspect. In the second Lahore case, a phone containing the Multan woman’s pictures and videos was recovered. Near Faisalabad, officers said they recovered a phone with WhatsApp accounts allegedly used for blackmail and related evidence.
NCCIA arrests three suspects of this kind typically follow complaints about image-based coercion and reputation harm. Officials framed these detentions as action against men accused of turning intimate digital content into leverage.
What happens next
Further court and investigation steps were not detailed in the Sunday briefing. The agency presented the arrests as completed operations in which digital evidence had already been taken into custody.
For families watching such cases, the pattern described is familiar: private files obtained through trust or account takeover, then used to demand money or silence. The alleged use of fake profiles and unauthorised access underlines how quickly a personal chat or cloud album can become a threat if it falls into the wrong hands.
Aasan alfaaz mein
NCCIA ne teen logon ko alag alag cases mein giraftar kiya hai. In par ilzam hai ke inhon ne social media aur WhatsApp ke zariye auraton ko blackmail kiya ya unki private tasveerein share ki. Do giraftariyan Lahore mein hui aur aik Faisalabad Toll Plaza ke paas. Agar kisi ke paas aapki private pictures hain aur who dhamki de, to police ya cybercrime agency se madad lein.
