WASA Faisalabad warns officers over missed recovery goals

WASA Faisalabad Managing Director Engineer Saqib Raza has ordered officers to meet strict revenue recovery targets: 95 per cent from industrial consumers, at least 80 per cent from commercial consumers, and more than 60 per cent from domestic consumers. He warned that officers who fall short will face stern departmental action.

Chairing a meeting of the Revenue Directorate, he said industrial recovery of up to 95 per cent was mandatory and that commercial recovery below 80 per cent would not be accepted. Domestic recovery, he added, must exceed 60 per cent.

Field visits and a one-month review

Mr Raza directed revenue officers to leave their desks and carry out field visits so that recovery work is done on the ground and assigned targets are met. He said a review meeting would be held after one month to judge every revenue officer against those targets.

He made clear that departmental action would follow if the prescribed recovery levels were not achieved. The message was aimed at tightening collection discipline across consumer categories, not only at large industrial accounts.

Wider consumer base and PHS role

The managing director also stressed the need to add more commercial and domestic consumers so WASA Faisalabad can strengthen its revenue base beyond existing billed users. Expanding the consumer list is meant to support the agency’s finances alongside higher recovery rates.

He further directed the Public Health Services (PHS) Directorate—the wing dealing with public health engineering and related services—to take effective steps to improve revenue recovery. That puts PHS alongside the Revenue Directorate in the drive to raise collection.

What officers must deliver

In practical terms, industrial users sit at the top of the recovery ladder at 95 per cent, commercial users at a floor of 80 per cent, and domestic users above 60 per cent. Officers will be measured against those percentages at the one-month review.

The targets apply to how much of billed revenue is actually recovered from each group. Failure to meet them, the managing director said, will bring departmental consequences for the officers responsible.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Faisalabad WASA ke MD ne bill wasooli ke sakht targets de diye hain. Industrial users se 95 percent, commercial se kam az kam 80 percent, aur gharoon se 60 percent se zyada wasooli honi chahiye. Officers ko field mein ja kar recovery karni hogi, aur ek mahine baad review hoga. Jo target miss karega, us ke khilaf department action ho sakta hai—matlab unpaid bills par pressure barhne ka imkaan hai.
