A Lahore sessions court on Wednesday summoned the Okara University VC, Dr Sajjad Mubin, for indictment in a private complaint filed by a woman teacher who alleges harassment, defamation and misuse of authority. She further alleged that he withheld her salary and tenure-track system (TTS) benefits—pay and career terms linked to a performance-based faculty track—and blocked her promotion. She claimed that after returning from a postdoctoral fellowship abroad, she was refused permission to rejoin her post without justification. She also alleged that the Okara University VC and the PRO harmed her reputation through the university’s official website and social media. She asked the court to punish both defendants strictly under the law.
