The United States carried out a strike on Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night, and Iranian authorities soon broadcast civilian guidance on how to respond to a nuclear attack and radiation risk. On Tuesday, President Donald Trump confirmed that US forces had attacked Iran and said they had hit an anti-aircraft installation there.
Trump said Iran had built an anti-aircraft system and that, once it was completed, US forces “successfully” targeted it the previous night. He described the action as a “limited attack.” Before the Qeshm strike, he had also threatened to hit several targets, including Koh-e-Kalang.
Civilian guidance on radiation risk
Iranian state media carried instructions for the public on nuclear-attack and radiation emergencies while US-Iran tension was rising. According to coverage of those briefings, Ibrahim Adelzadeh, an Isfahan Red Crescent official, outlined steps for people to take in a sudden crisis.
He said residents should remain inside buildings, shut doors and windows, and stop systems that pull in outside air. Basements or inner rooms away from windows were described as safer places to shelter. In the event of a blast, he advised staying low to the ground and not looking directly at the flash. Anyone exposed to radioactive dust was told to remove outer clothing carefully and place it in a sealed bag.
The guidance was presented as precautionary advice for a nuclear or radiation emergency. Officials did not, in the available accounts, say that such an attack had already occurred.
Wider regional alert
Reports have also circulated claiming that Israel’s prime minister pressed the US president for a further attack on Iran; that claim has not been confirmed by officials named in the available accounts.
Separately, the US embassy in Riyadh renewed a security alert for Saudi Arabia. It directed non-emergency government employees and their families to leave the country over security concerns and placed fresh limits on official staff travel inside the kingdom.

Aasan alfaaz mein
America ne Iran ke Qeshm island par hamla kiya hai, jo Hormuz ke paas hai. Trump ne kaha ke yeh hamla hua aur ek air-defence site ko target kiya gaya. Iran ne TV par logon ko radiation se bachne ke tariqe bataye hain. Is tanao se petrol, Gulf jobs aur rupay par asar padne ka andesha ho sakta hai, lekin abhi yeh sirf ehtiyat ki baat hai.
