US President Donald Trump has said he is fully ready to accept the midterm election results and will look for ways to work with Democrats, while also standing by his Trump Iran policy. Speaking after Republican losses, he argued that the two parties could still find agreement on some issues and that compromise remains possible.
He said he was waiting to work with the opposition and suggested both sides might reach an understanding. He attributed poor Republican performances in part to his own name not appearing on the ballot, adding that the outcome might have been different if he himself had been running.
Midterm setbacks and talk of cooperation
Trump also defended his decision to support Republican candidates who failed to win Senate seats, saying he had no regret about backing them. Despite those losses, he voiced satisfaction with the first two years of his second presidential term and said he felt no sorrow over the steps he had taken.
On his Truth Social platform he wrote that he would examine the reasons for candidates’ successes and failures, and he hinted he might present himself as a political commentator. He also shared an image of a red hat carrying the word “veto”, repeating his earlier stance that he could use the presidential veto if Democrats move legislation in Congress.
Trump Iran policy and foreign-policy pushback
In the same set of remarks, Trump addressed his Trump Iran policy directly. He described his decision to start a war against Iran as correct and called it a wise choice, framing the move as deliberate rather than mistaken.
Separately, reaction continued over his plan to stop annual aid to Israel amounting to billions of dollars. Democratic congressman Ro Khanna said on X that the announcement showed Trump was anxious to stop a “blue tsunami”—a phrase used in US politics for the prospect of a large Democratic election victory. Khanna argued that traditional Democratic leaders who had twice lost elections to Trump had once treated calls to halt Israel aid as too hardline, and he tagged Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani in the post. The exchange again highlighted disputes inside the Democratic Party over US assistance to Israel.
Domestic appeals around the contests
Trump had also appealed on X to Jewish communities in New York and surrounding areas to vote for congressional candidate Mike Lawler. He called Lawler an unmatched friend of the Jewish community, said Lawler had stood with that community even in the hardest times, and urged voters to make their voices heard by backing him for Congress.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Trump ne midterm results maan liye hain aur Democrats ke saath kaam karne ki baat ki hai. Iran ke khilaf jung shuru karne ke faisle ko us ne sahi aur aqualmandi wala qaraar diya. Woh Congress ke bills par veto bhi istemal kar sakte hain. Aam Pakistani readers ke liye yeh America ki politics aur Middle East policy dono par asar daal sakti hai, lekin abhi tafseel aaegi.
