The Punjab government has opened 78 vacancies in its Office of AI, inviting applications for posts in the Artificial Intelligence Delivery Unit (AIDU). The unit sits under the AI Wing of the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the provincial secretariat arm that handles services and general administration. All advertised jobs are based in Lahore, and the last date to apply is 12 November 2026.
The recruitment covers about 40 job categories meant to help plan and roll out artificial intelligence work across provincial departments. Interested candidates must use the prescribed online or postal route, depending on the post they choose. The department says packages are competitive but has not published specific salary figures.
Who is being hired
Leadership and management openings include Chief Operating Officer / Delivery Unit Head, Head of Data and Intelligence, Head of Responsible AI and Compliance, Policy Advisor, Legal Expert, Operations Manager, Pillar Heads and a Partnerships Lead. The largest clusters of posts are in AI product development, project delivery and management: six Pillar Heads, six AI Product/Deployment Managers and six Delivery Associates, plus four Management Analysts and two Product/Service Designers.
Technical roles include Data Scientist, AI/ML Engineer, Data Engineer, AI Infrastructure Architect, AI Infrastructure/GPU Engineer, MLOps/LLMOps Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Governance Liaison, ML Evaluation Engineer, Impact-Assessment Reviewer, Cloud and DevOps Engineer, Web Developer, Network/System Administrator and IT/MIS Officer. Finance, administration and communications posts cover financial management, procurement and contracts, HR, internal audit, admin, branding, social media, graphic design and video production. Support vacancies include Drivers, Clerical Staff and Office Attendants.
Education and experience
Most professional and technical posts require a bachelor’s or master’s degree amounting to at least 16 years of education from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)–recognised university. Relevant fields include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance and related subjects. Support posts for drivers, clerical staff and attendants are open to candidates with Middle, Matric or Intermediate qualifications.
Experience bars are steep for senior jobs. The Chief Operating Officer / Delivery Unit Head needs a relevant master’s (16 years’ education) and at least 12 years’ professional experience, including programme or project leadership. Head of Data and Intelligence and Head of Responsible AI and Compliance each need at least 10 years in related work. The AI Infrastructure Architect post asks for at least eight years; Data Scientist at least seven; and AI/ML Engineer at least five years in artificial intelligence or machine learning engineering. Policy Advisor, Legal Expert, Operations Manager and several finance and HR specialist posts also carry advertised experience requirements.
