Pakistani and other international applicants have until 31 October 2026 to seek one of the UK university scholarships for Pakistani students and peers at University College Birmingham (UCB): the Vice-Chancellor’s Award, which waives 100% of tuition fees for the first academic year of an eligible full-time degree starting in February 2027.

According to the university’s published scholarship information, the award is aimed at overseas-fee students who show strong academic results, leadership potential, and a clear commitment to contributing positively to society. It is listed for students from Pakistan as well as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, and several other countries.

What the award covers — and what it does not

Successful candidates pay no tuition for their first year. That cuts the upfront cost of studying in the United Kingdom, but the waiver does not continue into later years. Students must arrange funding for the rest of their programme themselves.

The scholarship applies only to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Part-time and distance-learning programmes are excluded. Recipients may also be asked to take part in university activities such as testimonials, case studies, and marketing support.

Who is eligible and what grades are needed

Applicants must first receive and accept an offer for an eligible full-time programme beginning in February 2027, and they must hold overseas fee status. Students who qualify for home fees cannot apply.

Undergraduate candidates need at least 144 UCAS tariff points or an equivalent international qualification. Postgraduate applicants need a First Class Honours degree or an equivalent qualification from their home country. Scholarship materials also refer to a minimum academic score of 70% or AAA grades.

For English, the listing cites IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 72, but each applicant must still meet the English requirements of their chosen UCB programme.

How to apply before the deadline

After securing and accepting an offer, candidates complete the scholarship application as directed by the university and submit a personal statement of about 500 words. That statement should cover academic and personal achievements, career goals, contributions to society, leadership potential, and how their plans fit the award’s aims.

UCB expects to announce successful applicants by 30 November 2026. Full conditions and instructions are on the official University College Birmingham website. For students comparing UK university scholarships for Pakistani students, this award is a first-year fee waiver rather than a multi-year full package.
