Pakistan’s finance ministry has projected Pakistan inflation in a range of 9.5% to 10.5% for October 2026, pointing to elevated energy and food prices at home that it said track wider global trends.
In its Monthly Economic Update and Outlook for October 2026, the ministry said headline inflation — the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the main gauge of how fast everyday prices are rising — is expected in that band for the month.
What is driving the projection
The ministry linked the outlook to high energy and food costs. Those two categories weigh heavily on household budgets in Pakistan, from cooking fuel and transport to kitchen staples, so they often shape the overall inflation reading.
It framed the pressure as consistent with global price trends rather than as a purely domestic spike. That still leaves families facing higher bills while the official reading stays near double digits within the projected band.
What could change the path next
The ministry cautioned that the course of inflation after October will be sensitive to international energy prices, food supplies and base effects — the statistical comparison with the same period a year earlier that can lift or soften the published rate even when month-to-month prices move only modestly.
In practical terms, swings in global oil and gas markets, or shifts in how much food is available, could push the eventual reading toward the top or bottom of the 9.5%–10.5% range, or alter the trend that follows.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Finance ministry ka kehna hai ke October 2026 mein Pakistan inflation lagbhag 9.5 se 10.5 percent ke darmiyan reh sakti hai. Energy aur khane ki cheezen mehngi hain, is liye overall prices upar nazar aa rahi hain. Aage chal kar global energy rates, food ki supply aur pichle saal se muqabla is reading ko badal sakte hain. Gharane ke budget mein khane aur billon ka hisab lagate waqt is andaze ko zehen mein rakhain.
