JS Bank Limited (PSX: JSBL) has reported a sharp rise in JS Bank profit after tax for the nine months ended 30 September 2026. Profit after tax grew 67% to Rs4.300 billion from Rs2.569 billion a year earlier, while profit before tax rose 58% to Rs8.932 billion from Rs5.665 billion. Earnings per share increased to Rs2.10 from Rs1.25.
Balance sheet and deposits
The bank said total assets grew 12% to Rs733.719 billion from Rs655.636 billion at December 2025. Total deposits increased 10% to Rs598.123 billion from Rs543.502 billion. The share of non-remunerative deposits improved to 43.35% from 40.87% at December 2025, which the bank linked to a focus on a lower-cost deposit base.
Costs, fees and credit losses
Fee income rose 4.34% to Rs3.828 billion. Non-markup expenses increased 3.3% to Rs23.152 billion. Over the nine months, the bank recorded a net reversal of credit loss allowances of Rs1.733 billion, against a net charge of Rs3.182 billion in the same period last year—a swing that supported the higher JS Bank profit after tax figure.
Capital and management comment
JS Bank completed its sixth Tier-2 Term Finance Certificate issuance of Rs4 billion. With stronger profitability and that extra Tier-2 capital, it reported a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR)—a regulatory cushion of capital against risk—of 13.30% as at 30 September 2026.
President and CEO Basir Shamsie said the nine-month performance reflected “steady progress” in strengthening the bank’s financial position and growing its core business. He pointed to deposit growth, the low-cost deposit mix, and cost discipline, and said the bank remains focused on sustainable growth, customer experience, and financing needs in key sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
