Meta has released Waddle World, a Meta AI pet experience framed as a Tamagotchi-style companion: virtual creatures chat with people and sketch doodles that illustrate those conversations. Apple App Store and Google Play listings call it a “16-bit pet care game,” then spell out that it is “a daily journal disguised as a pet.”
The product is listed as free. According to the store copy, it is available only to adults in the Philippines. Social media consultant Matt Navarra flagged the listing. Whether Meta will open Waddle World in the United States or other countries is not clear.
What the app asks you to do
Store descriptions say people should talk with their pets, not type. Alongside that voice-led journaling, users can play short “cozy games,” including stacking groceries and word games. The Play Store pitch describes a little friend that listens and a personal 16-bit world: hatch a pixel pet, drop in when you like, and let it get to know you, with no streaks, scores or pressure—only a small escape in the gaps of the day.
In short, the Meta AI pet layer is the wrapper; the stated purpose is a softer daily check-in through chat, doodles and light play rather than competition.
Another quiet Meta experiment
Around the same period, Meta also quietly launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app. Navarra says that one is limited to Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand; those location limits have not been independently confirmed. The company has been pushing a sweet mascot and small Charm gadgets tied to its Muse AI agent, placing these niche apps in a wider push into friendly, chatty AI surfaces.
Availability and what comes next
For now, the confirmed Waddle World footprint in public store text is adults in the Philippines. Expansion plans for Waddle World or Style Sketch elsewhere have not been announced. Anyone outside that window who wants the Meta AI pet journal will have to wait for a wider release—if Meta chooses one.
