The Virtual University of Pakistan has opened registration for free online courses in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, run with Cisco Networking Academy under the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Learn-A-Thon 2026.
The eight-week programme sits with the university’s Professional Development Center. Official material says learners can join nine specialised courses on cybersecurity, digital safety, generative AI, prompt engineering, and practical uses of AI—with 100% free enrollment and a path to Cisco digital badges and certificates if they meet each course’s requirements.
What the nine courses cover
Two courses focus on protection online: Introduction to Cybersecurity and Digital Safety & Security Awareness. They introduce basic cybersecurity ideas, safer online habits, and how to guard digital information.
Three courses target AI literacy and workplace use: Introduction to Modern AI, Prompt Like an Engineer, and Build Your Resume with AI. These walk through modern AI concepts, clearer prompt-writing, and using AI tools for professional tasks such as résumé work.
Four further courses deepen generative AI practice: Find Insights with AI, AI Power User Launchpad, Core Generative AI Skills, and Optimizing Generative AI. They centre on using AI tools, generative applications, and hands-on skills for AI-powered work.
Who can join and how learning works
The Professional Development Center frames the Learn-A-Thon for anyone wanting stronger cybersecurity and AI knowledge—students and working professionals alike. Courses are online and self-paced, so people can study around jobs, classes, or other commitments.
The university’s announcement does not set a minimum age, degree, or prior work experience for enrollment. Participants do need a valid, active email address to register and access the Cisco Networking Academy material.
