Air Link Communication Limited plans to launch its Airlink electric bike brand, Air EV, on 4 November 2026, with deliveries expected to begin within about a week. The company shared the plans at its annual general meeting; Arif Habib Limited summarised the management’s comments in a research note.
Launch plans and how the bikes will work
Management said the Air EV models will use replaceable lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion packs store energy for electric motors and, when they are replaceable, a rider can swap a drained pack for a charged one instead of waiting for a full recharge.
The company is moving beyond its core mobile-phone business into electric two-wheelers as it looks for new growth. Management plans to enter Pakistan’s electric mobility market and raise the share of work done inside the country over time.
Sourcing, localisation and the plant plan
At first, Airlink intends to source electric bikes from international partners that can offer competitive pricing. The firm then aims to move gradually into local assembly and manufacturing. Lithium-ion batteries are to be procured locally at the start, while management is targeting up to 95% localisation over time.
Earlier in July, Airlink announced an electric bike manufacturing plant under its own brand AirV. The November launch under the Air EV name continues that push into two-wheeler production and sales.
Financing and the wider consumer push
Airlink is also expanding consumer-appliance sales and has set up Airfin to offer buy-now-pay-later financing—instalment plans that let buyers pay over time—for smartphones, televisions, air conditioners and electric bikes. Management sees untapped potential in Pakistan’s BNPL market and expects the facility to support net margins while mobile-phone sales remain under pressure. It also believes monthly instalments can make new smartphones more affordable and help the company compete with the used-phone market.
Separately, the research note projects air-conditioner sales of 65,000 units in 2027 and 95,000 in 2028, and television sales of 50,000 units in 2027 and 65,000 in 2028.
Air Link Communication Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a private limited company in January 2014 and became a public limited company in April 2019. Its business covers the import, export, distribution, indenting, wholesale and retail of communication and IT products, including smartphones, tablets and related accessories.
