Immigration clearance stopped nationwide

The FIA Pakistan airport immigration system has broken down, and immigration processing has been suspended at airports across the country. Airport officials said travellers are stuck in long queues because counters cannot clear arrivals or departures while the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) — the federal body that handles airport immigration checks — network is down.

Officials said the outage began at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and then left the FIA immigration system unused at every airport in Pakistan. With no working screens or clearance flow at the desks, queues in immigration halls have kept growing. Both passengers leaving the country and those coming in are facing significant delays.

Where it started and how far it spread

Jinnah International Airport was the first site named in the failure. From there, the same FIA Pakistan airport systems went offline elsewhere, so the halt is national rather than limited to one terminal. Airport staff have described the stoppage as temporary, but that only means clearance is paused until the system returns — not that travellers can skip the check.

Secondary routes and other major hubs are covered by the same national setup, so a single FIA outage can freeze immigration at once. That is why a problem that started in Karachi now shows up wherever passengers expect FIA counters to operate.

Repeat failure, no fix time yet

Sources said this is not the first breakdown. The FIA immigration system also went down at Jinnah International Airport about two weeks ago. For the current outage, no timeline has been given for when the system will work again. Until it does, passengers should expect longer waits at immigration and possible knock-on delays for boarding, baggage, and onward travel plans.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Pakistan ke airports par FIA ka immigration system kharab ho gaya hai. Karachi ke Jinnah Airport se shuru hokar yeh problem poore mulk ke airports tak fail ho gayi hai. Musafir lambi lines mein khare hain kyunke clearance band hai. Abhi yeh nahi bataya gaya ke system kab theek hoga, is liye travel pe pehle se zyada waqt nikalne ki taiyari rakhein.
