Gold prices in Pakistan today per tola moved higher on Monday, ending a stretch of weakness that had taken the market to its softest point since mid-July in the prior session. Rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association put 24-carat gold at Rs423,436 a tola, up Rs1,400, as local quotes followed gains in the international bullion market and lower oil prices eased some inflation concerns.
Local rates for gold and silver
On the association’s sheet, 24-carat gold per 10 grams increased by Rs1,201 to Rs363,028. The 22-karat rate per 10 grams rose by Rs1,101 to Rs332,787. Shoppers comparing purity should note that 24-carat is near-pure metal, while 22-karat is the standard often used in jewellery.
Silver also firmed at home. Silver per tola rose by Rs20 to Rs5,878, and 24-carat silver per 10 grams increased by Rs17 to Rs5,039. Abroad, silver climbed by $0.20 to $54 an ounce, the association said, while international gold rose by $14 to $4,009 an ounce.
Why the rebound and what comes next
Monday’s lift in gold prices in Pakistan today per tola tracked a firmer global market after oil fell from near six-month highs reached last week. Hopes of easing United States–Iran tensions weighed on energy prices, though attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Houthi movement kept supply worries alive.
Kyle Rodda, a senior financial market analyst, said the jump was “mostly symptomatic of the kind of relief provided by a lower oil price,” but warned it “could easily be capped as markets position for the FOMC decision in a couple of days’ time.” The FOMC is the US Federal Reserve’s rate-setting committee. He added that gold would keep trading on interest-rate expectations and geopolitical risks.
Investors are also waiting for US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation figures—the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge—due on October 29, for clues on progress toward the central bank’s 2% inflation target. Despite gold’s usual safe-haven role, the metal has faced pressure amid volatility tied to regional conflict, high energy costs, technology stocks linked to artificial intelligence, and rising government debt.
