Pak US Tech Connect 2026 brought Midwest businesses, Pakistani technology firms, policymakers and industry leaders together in Chicago to discuss commercial partnerships in the digital economy. The gathering was co-hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB)—the government body that promotes IT exports—and OPEN Global.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, opened the conference. He pointed to room for deeper technology cooperation and argued that U.S. companies could improve profitability by working with Pakistan’s low-cost, high-quality talent, citing the country’s young population. PSEB chief executive Faisal Jeddy spoke on Pakistan’s IT sector, competitive costs and capacity to deliver advanced solutions. Ignite chief executive Bilal Abbasi addressed the startup scene, while OPEN Global president Tariq Khan outlined paths for collaboration.
Midwest officials join the Chicago agenda
Illinois State Representative Justin Slaughter and State Senator Laura Murphy addressed participants. Daniel Bellefleur, vice president for foreign direct investment at the Illinois Economic Development Corporation, offered the state’s investment and growth perspective. Their presence framed the Chicago tech conference as a bridge between Midwest buyers and Pakistani suppliers, not only a diaspora networking event.
Pakistani firms pitch U.S. enterprise work
Presentations from Pakistani technology companies highlighted products and services aimed at American clients. Firms named among participants included Strategic Systems International, 10Pearls, Abacus, Systems Limited, Nextbridge, Addo AI, Excellence Delivered, Folio3 and TMC.
Panel talks examined how Pakistani firms can build and scale enterprise partnerships in the United States, how middle-market buyers decide, and how to enter the market effectively. A separate session looked at moving beyond traditional outsourcing—what U.S. enterprise buyers and investors want from Pakistani technology partners.
Networking and closing remarks
Networking blocks gave Midwest companies and the visiting delegation time to match needs, identify possible partners and plan follow-up contacts. In closing, Consul General Zaman Mehdi thanked participants and partners, stressing cooperation among government, private firms and the Pakistani-American diaspora. OPEN Chicago chairman Aamir Chalisa also gave concluding remarks.
For Pakistani exporters and freelancers watching from home, Pak US Tech Connect 2026 is a signal that official and private channels are actively courting Midwest demand—though any contracts would still depend on follow-through after the event.
