The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed higher on Monday, 26 October 2026, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index — the main gauge of large listed companies — up 663.59 points, or 0.41 percent, at 163,038.47. The previous close was 162,374.88, according to exchange data.

How the session traded

Activity in the ready market, where most everyday share dealing takes place, was still sizeable but lighter than the day before. About 376.02 million shares changed hands, compared with about 398.94 million in the previous session. Total traded value was about Rs16.19 billion, down from about Rs18.20 billion previously.

Market capitalisation — the combined value of listed shares — increased to Rs18,061,154,087,846 from Rs18,014,203,595,525. The index gain came even as more stocks fell than rose: out of 495 companies, 196 advanced, 251 declined and 48 finished unchanged.

What the figures show

A higher KSE-100 close means the basket of large-cap shares that make up the index was worth more at the final bell than at the prior close. The 0.41 percent move is modest in percentage terms but adds more than 600 points when the index is already above 160,000.

Lower volume and value alongside a rising index suggest fewer rupees were put to work even as the benchmark advanced. The breadth numbers — more decliners than advancers — show that many individual stocks did not share in the index’s gain.

What happens next

Tuesday’s open will show whether buyers continue to support the KSE-100 near the 163,000 level or whether the weaker breadth and lighter turnover reverse some of Monday’s rise. Investors typically watch the next session’s volume and the mix of advancing and declining shares for confirmation.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Somwar ko Pakistan Stock Exchange band hote waqt KSE-100 index 663.59 points barh kar 163,038.47 par tha. Shareon ki kharid-farokht pichhli session se kam rahi, lekin market ki kul qeemat thori si barh gayi. Zyada companies girin, kam barhin — matlab har share nahi chadh raha tha. Jo log shares ya stock funds rakhte hain, unke portfolio ki qeemat index ke sath badal sakti hai.
