The federal government has cut the petrol price by Rs3.19 per litre and raised high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.25 per litre for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
New pump rates
Petrol now stands at Rs376.06 per litre, down from Rs379.25. High-speed diesel is Rs398.07 per litre, up from Rs395.82. The revised prices took effect at midnight and apply for October 28.
The Petroleum Division said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) set the rates under the federal pricing mechanism, reflecting changes in international oil prices, Platts assessments, premiums and related costs.
What it means for drivers and freight
A lower petrol price eases fill-up costs for motorcycles, cars and many ride-hailing trips. A higher diesel price raises operating costs for trucks, intercity buses and vans, which can feed into freight charges and some passenger fares.
Context
The revision follows an increase on October 27, when petrol rose by Rs1.54 and diesel by Rs2.16 per litre. Amid Middle East supply risks, the government has been notifying petroleum prices on a daily basis, with weekend holds.
