Pakistan State Oil (PSO), the country’s state-linked fuel marketing company, reported an unconsolidated profit after tax of Rs15.07 billion for FY26 and held its 50th annual general meeting at PSO House in Karachi. The meeting was chaired by Asif Baigmohamed, chairman of the Board of Management. Chief Executive Officer Jawwad Ahmed Cheema, board members and senior management also attended.
On a consolidated basis, profit after tax stood at Rs25.49 billion. Management recommended a final cash dividend of Rs10 per share. Shareholders raised questions at the meeting, which management answered while restating its focus on energy security and longer-term growth.
Earnings, revenue and market position
PSO recorded gross revenue of Rs3.25 trillion. Core gross profit, excluding liquefied natural gas (LNG), grew by 20.5% to Rs81.9 billion. The company said it kept its lead in the market, including a 99.2% share in aviation fuels, and generated $363.5 million in foreign exchange earnings.
Management told the meeting that, despite geopolitical volatility and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz — a key shipping route for oil — PSO maintained uninterrupted fuel supplies nationwide. It attributed that continuity to diversified sourcing and stronger supply resilience.
Energy security and business shift
Alongside its traditional fuel business, PSO said it was moving toward an integrated energy group. Initiatives cited included renewable energy, digital payments, retail expansion and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The company also pointed to progress on strategic energy infrastructure projects, with continued attention to operational safety and sustainability.
On safety, PSO reported zero fatalities across more than 53.87 million safe man-hours. Through the PSO CSR Trust, it invested Rs665 million in healthcare, education, community development and flood relief during the year under review.
What shareholders heard next
Management thanked shareholders for their confidence and said it remained committed to creating sustainable value and improving returns. Shareholders, in turn, praised management’s performance and leadership and expressed confidence in PSO’s strategic direction and its role in Pakistan’s energy sector and economy.
Aasan alfaaz mein
PSO ne Karachi mein apni 50vin saalana meeting ki aur bataya ke FY26 mein us ka alag (unconsolidated) munafa Rs15.07 arab rupay tha. Company ne har share par Rs10 ka cash dividend bhi tajweez kiya hai. Fuel ki rasad mulk bhar mein jari rahi, aur aviation fuel mein us ka hissa 99.2% raha. Share holders ke liye yeh munafa aur dividend ahm hai; awam ke liye yeh is baat ka ishara hai ke fuel supply ka nizam theek chal raha hai.
