Pakistan’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy schedule for the 69th edition places the country’s main first-class cricket competition on November 3, when 20 regional sides begin a Gold-and-Silver season of 60 matches.

Eight teams will contest the Gold division and 12 the Silver competition. Defending champions Karachi Blues return in Gold. Test captain Babar Azam will turn out for Lahore Whites, while ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead FATA. Those two sides open the Gold tournament at Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad on November 3.

Gold and Silver teams

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy teams in Gold are Karachi Blues, Faisalabad, FATA, Lahore Whites, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Sialkot Blues. The Silver field is split into two groups of six. Group A has Lahore Blues, Rawalpindi, Larkana, Quetta, Bahawalpur and Peshawar Whites. Group B has Karachi Whites, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Abbottabad and Sialkot Whites.

The top two sides from Silver will win promotion to Gold for the following season, keeping the second tier a clear pathway into the higher division.

Venues, dates and how long it runs

Gold fixtures are listed for National Ground and Diamond Ground in Islamabad, Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, and Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, with four Gold matches in each round. The Gold final is scheduled from December 15 to 19. Announcements differ on when the Gold league phase itself ends: one set of details has that phase finishing on December 12 ahead of the final window, while other tournament notes describe Gold running through December 19.

Silver is due to wrap up on December 7. Group-stage play is listed from November 3 to 30, followed by a five-day final between the group winners from December 3 to 7. Group A matches are planned at State Bank Ground, UBL Sports Complex and KCCA Stadium in Karachi. Group B is set for Multan Cricket Stadium, Sports Complex Rahim Yar Khan and Dring Stadium in Bahawalpur. Separate tallies put 29 first-class matches in Gold and 31 in Silver.

Live coverage and star names

All four Gold matches in each round are due to be live-streamed on Tamasha and tapmad. In Silver, four of the six matches in each round are also listed for live streaming. The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy schedule therefore gives fans early visibility of both the Babar–Shaheen opener and the wider regional calendar.
