Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved into the top five of the ICC ODI bowling rankings, climbing one place to fifth with 621 rating points in the latest update released on Wednesday.

The rise followed Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against England and Sri Lanka, in which Afridi finished as the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets in five matches. Fellow paceman Haris Rauf also advanced, leaping five places to 24th after seven wickets in five games.

Bowling: Afridi up, Abrar slips

Afridi’s step into the top five leaves Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan still first among ODI bowlers, with South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj second. Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, who did not play any of Pakistan’s matches in the series, dropped one place to fourth.

The Pakistan trio’s bowling gains sit against that backdrop: Afridi’s steady climb on volume of wickets, Rauf’s sharper jump from a smaller haul, and Abrar’s slide despite remaining among the highest-ranked spinners.

Fakhar’s Lahore hundred lifts batting rank

In the batting list, opener Fakhar Zaman was Pakistan’s biggest mover, rising nine places to 37th with 548 points. The surge followed his century in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where he scored 127 off 99 balls with 11 fours and six sixes.

That innings ended a three-year wait for an ODI hundred—his first since an unbeaten 126 against New Zealand at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023—and marked a turnaround after a lean start to the same series.

Other Pakistan and world rankings

Former captain Babar Azam remained Pakistan’s highest-ranked ODI batter, holding ninth place with 661 points. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha stayed 13th with 622 points.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who is currently outside Pakistan’s squads in all formats, fell two places to 44th with 532 points. Young opener Saim Ayub slipped four spots to joint 68th with 468 points, while all-rounder Shadab Khan dropped one place to 93rd with 398 points.

At the top of the ODI batting rankings, India captain Shubman Gill kept first place with 841 points. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell stayed second, and India’s Virat Kohli held third.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Shaheen Afridi ab ICC One Day bowling ranking mein top five mein aa gaye hain. Fakhar Zaman ne Lahore final mein Sri Lanka ke khilaf century maari aur nawaN jagah upar chadh gaye. Haris Rauf bhi paanch positions behtar ho gaye hain. Cricket fans ke liye yeh Pakistan ki form ki seedhi, positive khabar hai.
