The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has secured the 2nd position in South Asia in the newly released QS Asia University Rankings 2027.
According to the latest assessment by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)—a global higher education analytics entity—NUST stands as the only higher education institution from Pakistan to feature within Asia’s top 100 universities. The institution has also maintained its standing as the top-ranked university inside Pakistan for the ninth consecutive year.
Growth in regional standing
The university’s regional placement reflects steady upward movement over recent years. In 2023, NUST was ranked 7th in South Asia before climbing to 2nd place in the current 2027 evaluation.
University officials attributed the progress to consistent institutional efforts across research output, academic standards, and international collaboration involving faculty, researchers, staff, and students.
