The Redmi K100 launch date is October 28, with the phone set to debut in China. What Xiaomi has revealed
The phone will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a high-end processor, and it is paired with Xiaomi's own D2 display chip. According to the company, the handset will support a 165Hz refresh rate in more than 40 games. A higher refresh rate means the screen updates more times each second, which should make motion look smoother during supported gaming sessions.
The front carries a 6.83-inch AMOLED display, a panel type in which each pixel produces its own light, with peak brightness reaching 3,500 nits. A nit is the unit used to measure how bright a screen can get. The phone will also carry a large 10,000mAh battery and ship with HyperOS 4, Xiaomi's own software layer.
Xiaomi also showed the phone in a new Firefly Green colour, giving buyers another look at its design. The company plans to introduce Redmi Clip Neo open-ear earphones alongside the handset.
Where the K100 fits in the lineup
The Redmi K100 joins the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which debuted in August. The announcement focuses on the standard K100, so the differences between it and the Pro models are not yet clear. Buyers comparing the three will need fuller specification details from the company before they can judge which model suits them.
What is still unknown
Xiaomi has not announced availability outside China, and no price has been given for Pakistan or any other market. Pre-orders in China are the only sales channel mentioned so far.
