AshreiTech, a technology-focused private equity firm, has announced a strategic investment in Digit Labs, a Pakistani cybersecurity company. The firm said the deal gives Digit Labs capital and market access to grow across Pakistan and beyond. It is also AshreiTech's first investment in Pakistan, which the US-based firm described as a step beyond its established American market.
Why the deal comes at a time of rising cyber risk
The announcement said organisations across Pakistan are speeding up digital transformation, the shift of business and public services onto digital systems, while facing a sharp rise in cyber threats. Demand for enterprise-level security, meaning protection built for large organisations, is growing quickly in banking, government, telecom and other regulated sectors. According to the announcement, Digit Labs is well placed to lead that market.
AshreiTech said the investment adds a proven security team to its technology portfolio. The firm, which works with leadership teams to build long-term value, said it saw deep technical talent and the trust of leading Pakistani institutions at Digit Labs.
What Digit Labs does
Digit Labs was founded in 2015 and provides offensive and defensive security services, which test and protect systems against attacks. It also offers advisory work and managed security services, where a provider runs security monitoring on a client's behalf. The company's stated focus includes agentic SOC and agentic MXDR services, which pair AI agents, governed by people, with expert analysts. A security operations centre (SOC) is a team that watches for and responds to threats.
The company profile says it serves banks, government institutions, telecom operators and enterprises in highly regulated sectors.
What the founders and investor said
Rahim Iqbal, General Partner at AshreiTech, said Pakistan's digital economy is growing fast and that Digit Labs has the engineering depth and client trust to lead the market. Abbas Rajani, CEO of Digit Labs, said the backing reflects what the team has built since 2015. He said it gives the company the capital and reach to protect many more organisations across Pakistan.
The investment terms were not disclosed, so the size of the deal and the stake AshreiTech holds are not known. The announcement did not set out a timetable for Digit Labs' expansion. Both companies framed the deal as a way to scale existing services rather than as a change in what Digit Labs offers.
