The Chinese auto group has now entered the Pakistani market through Bestway Group, and Geely electric cars price in Pakistan has not been announced yet. Bestway has unveiled three new energy models: the EX2 compact electric hatchback, the EX5 electric SUV and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV. The company says the price, booking details and final technical specifications will be shared later through official channels.
Irfan Muhammad Shaikh, who heads Bestway Group, said Bestway Automotive will be the exclusive seller of Geely vehicles in Pakistan. He presented the move as Bestway's first foray into cars, a step the group framed as an addition to its long-standing investments in the country.
What the three models are
The term new energy vehicle, or NEV, covers alternative-fuel cars that run mainly or entirely on electric power rather than a conventional combustion engine. The EX2 is the compact electric hatchback in the range and the EX5 is a fully electric SUV. The Starray EM-i is a plug-in hybrid, meaning it pairs a battery-powered motor with a conventional engine, so it is the only one of the three that is not fully electric.
The parent company, Geely Holding, was set up in 1986 and reached sales of about 4.12 million units worldwide in 2025. Of these, 2.29 million, or 56%, were NEVs. The group also owns well-known car brands such as Volvo Cars and Polestar, and its goal is 6.5 million vehicles sold worldwide by 2030, the statement said.
Imports first, then local assembly
Bestway will begin with imported vehicles while it readies a 24.71-acre site at Port Qasim in Karachi for CKD production. CKD means the cars arrive as kits and are put together in the country. The plant already offers over 403,000 square feet of covered space and capacity to assemble up to 25,000 vehicles a year. The stated goal is to have cars assembled in Pakistan on the road next year.
Ownership, warranty and charging
Bestway has outlined plans for a nationwide dealership network and online booking. It also suggested cover lasting up to six years or 150,000km for the vehicle, and eight years for the battery and motor. Buyers could arrange financing through United Bank Limited (UBL), a bank in which Bestway holds a share.
A nationwide EV charging network is planned through Bestway Renewable Technologies. Bestway Cement already has 115 MW of solar power for its own use. Bestway itself started as a London retailer in 1976 and now employs more than 63,000 people across wholesale, cement, banking and renewable energy. Its annual revenue reached $7.9 billion.
Vehicle sales in Pakistan rose 43% year on year in Q1 of FY2026-27, and analysts linked the increase to a better economic backdrop, so the new brand enters a market where demand has picked up. The price, the booking schedule and the full technical details are still to come.
