Security forces killed at least 10 terrorists, including one woman, in a Gwadar terrorist attack that the military said was foiled in Gwadar district on 22 October 2026. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said the militants tried to carry out attacks in the general areas of the Gabd Border Crossing and Gwadar city. Operations concluded without any loss among security forces, although one civilian died and a few vehicles were damaged.
Clearance operations and the militants' claims
According to the ISPR's press release, security forces launched clearance operations in and around Gwadar city to protect residents and clear the area. In separate engagements, forces foiled what the statement called the militants' attempts to undermine the writ of the state, meaning the government's authority over the area. In the exchanges of fire that followed, ten terrorists, including one female terrorist, were killed.
The military described the attackers as Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to what it calls Fitna al Hindustan. That allegation of foreign backing comes from the military statement and is not independently confirmed in this article. Some accounts put the clashes on Friday, while the ISPR gives 22 October 2026 as the date of the operation, and this article follows the statement's date.
Civilian death and the military's message on women
One civilian was killed during the attacks and several vehicles were damaged, the military said. The statement also said that forcing a Baloch woman into the attack was a crime against the state and against the honour of Baloch women.
The ISPR called the use of a woman a cynical propaganda tactic meant to inflame public sentiment and lend false sanctity to the militants' campaign. It added that the people of Balochistan have consistently rejected those who shed blood in their name, and that they would see through this deception as well.
What happens next
The ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam will continue at full pace. The campaign was approved by the Federal Apex Committee, a top government body, under the National Action Plan, Pakistan's broad counter-terrorism framework. Security forces and law enforcement agencies said they remain resolute in eliminating foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
Aasan alfaaz mein
Gwadar mein dehshatgardon ke hamle ko security forces ne nakam bana diya, aur ISPR ke mutabiq kam az kam 10 dehshatgard, jin mein ek khatoon bhi shamil thi, maare gaye. Is operation mein ek shehri jaan se gaya aur kuch gaariyan nuqsan ka shikar huin, lekin security forces ka koi jaani nuqsan nahin hua. Fauj ke mutabiq operations mukammal ho chuke hain aur dehshatgardi ke khilaf muhim jaari rahegi. Aam logon ke liye matlab yeh hai ke Gwadar aane se pehle taaza sarkari maloomat dekh lein aur apni hifazat ka khayal rakhein.
