Interloop Limited, one of Pakistan’s largest textile exporters, will invest Rs6.5 billion, or about $23.5 million, to expand and modernise its apparel and hosiery operations. The company’s board approved the additional spending at a meeting held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Faisalabad. The decision was disclosed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), where Interloop is listed, in a filing made on Friday.
What the approved budget covers
The amount is a combined capital expenditure (capex) and Balancing, Modernisation and Replacement (BMR) budget. Capex is money spent on long-lasting assets such as buildings and machinery, while BMR refers to upgrading or replacing existing equipment so that a plant runs better. The budget applies across both the apparel and hosiery segments of the business.
Why the company says it is investing
In its notice to the exchange, the company said the investment supports its growth strategy by expanding production capabilities, raising manufacturing capacity and modernising existing facilities. It said the spending is intended to “strengthen operational efficiency” and to help the company meet changing customer demand. The plan therefore covers both its existing plants and added capacity.
About the company
Interloop is a vertically integrated, multi-category manufacturer, which means it handles several stages of production in-house. It makes yarn for textile customers and produces hosiery, denim, knitted apparel and activewear for leading global brands and retailers. Its industrial base is in Punjab, where all of its plants are located.
The company also has an associate manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka, a sourcing office and an affiliate manufacturing facility in China, and marketing offices in the United States, Europe and Japan. Its overseas presence is therefore wider than its factory base, with sales and sourcing teams in several markets.
Context and what comes next
Textiles are one of Pakistan’s most important export industries, and exporters that supply global brands often invest in machinery and capacity to keep up with buyers’ orders. The filing links the new spending to the company’s growth and efficiency goals rather than to any single contract. No completion date has been announced, and no split of the amount between the apparel and hosiery segments has been given. Further details would be expected through the company’s future notices to the PSX.
