House job of one year now required for full PMDC licence

The regulator’s 2026 admission framework adds daily late fees, tuition-linked penalties for extra enrolments, and mandatory portal filing for colleges and students.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), which regulates doctor and dentist training, has locked in its Medical and Dental Admission Policy 2026 with a clear message for institutions: break admission or paperwork rules and pay. The framework targets delayed merit lists, enrolments above the approved seat count, and missed administrative filings.

Penalties for merit lists and over-enrolment

If a medical college holds back its merit list, the first hit is Rs500,000. Each day the list stays unpublished after that adds another Rs50,000. Taking in more students than the allotted strength brings a different bill: the college owes the equivalent of a full year’s tuition for every surplus place. Those seats can also shrink by half when the next intake opens.

Other filing fines and portal rules

Registration left unfinished draws Rs50,000 for each affected student. Reporting a graduate late costs Rs75,000. Annual exam results filed behind schedule cost Rs30,000. Transfer or withdrawal notices that arrive late cost Rs100,000. Breaking the rules on fees and related charges costs Rs200,000.

Colleges, universities and students must file required papers only through PMDC’s official online portal, in the formats the council sets. Skipping that channel can itself trigger sanctions.

Licence, house job and how fines are applied

A full practice licence now depends on finishing at least one year of house job. Teaching hospitals have 10 days after a house job ends to send the completion certificate to the council.

PMDC will not levy a fine cold: it must first send a notice and let the institution reply. Institutions that keep offending risk limits on future intakes or further legal steps.

Aasan alfaaz mein

PMDC ne 2026 ke admission ke liye naye rules aur bari jurmanay lagaye hain. Merit list late hone par pehle paanch lakh, phir har din pachas hazar fine ho sakta hai. Zyada students bharne par college ko ek saal ki fee jitna jurmana aur agle saal seats aadhi hone ka khatra hai. Doctor banne ke full licence ke liye kam az kam ek saal ka house job zaroori hai.
